History
Intercity was formed in 2017 by reforming the structure of GCD Sant Joan d’Alacant. After being promoted to Regional Preferente in June 2018, the club attempted to merge with Novelda CF in order to compete in Tercera División, however the Royal Spanish Football Federation disapproved this. The same month, Intercity became the first Spanish football club to list itself on the stock market.
