Pedri and De Jong to be back for Atletico clash

Barcelona is expecting Pedri and Frankie De Jong to be back from injury and available for the match against Atletico Madrid on the 23rd of April. The two players did not feature in Barcelona’s latest away draw against Getafe but are likely to return to face Simeone’s side.

Match Review – Getafe vs FC Barcelona (LaLiga Matchday 29)

Pedri has not been available since picking up an injury against Manchester United in their Europa League clash two months ago. While De Jong has been out since Barcelona’s 2-1 victory over Real Madrid in La Liga.

What difference could this make?

Xavi’s side clearly missed the duo as Barcelona recently struggled with their games, having 2 consecutive goalless draws in La Liga and a 4-0 loss to Real Madrid in the Copa Del Rey Semi Final second leg at the Camp Nou.

Despite their incredible defensive record, Barcelona hasn’t been the usual attack threat as they used to be. Xavi’s side has only scored 53 goals so far in the league. Probably the return of Pedri and Frankie can help turn this around. Baraca’s number 8 has been crucial for them as the 20-year-old has scored many match-winning goals this season.

Barcelona is currently top of the table, 11 points clear of reigning champions Real Madrid. While Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid is third, just two points behind Real Madrid.
