FC Barcelona youngster Alejandro Balde who is considered as the successor of Jordi Alba is another La Masian who got the chance to play for the first team. This 17-year-old young lad has been on the radar of Barcelona management for a long time because of his amazing skills and performances for the second team. 2003 born Spanish youngster is a promising left-back who has the ability to even play as a left-winger.

Balde got the chance to make his official debut against Granada in a league match on the 21st of September. He started the game with another debutante Yusuf Demir, the Austrian wonderkid. Both the youngsters have been playing in matches this season, but only as substitutes from the bench. Neither had appeared in a starting line-up earlier.

It was a hard game for Barcelona and the game ended 1-1, but individually both youngsters put on an impressive performance. The left-back completed 38 passes and won two balls, but unfortunately had to leave the field just before the halftime break due to a back injury.

After the game, FC Barcelona released a statement saying that Alejandro Balde has lower back pain and he is unavailable for selection and his recovery will dictate his return.

Alejandro Balde is quite injury prone, as the 17-year-old has a long injury recorded with Barça B. Last year, for instance, Balde was ruled out for almost two months after he suffered an ankle ligament injury.

Then Balde underwent treatment to solve his back-pain issues which have been dragging for the past few weeks. Today doctors mentioned is a success if he returns after the international break.

Unfortunately, the most recent news about his recovery wasn’t what all the cules expected. AS stated that “Balde’s recovery is not going as expected. The conservative treatment doesn’t work to solve the back pain he has been suffering from since August, and the player has now undergone a non-invasive surgical technique. He will not be back until after the international break.”
