The Future of Dembele at Barcelona

Liverpool once again is making links with Barcelona in making a deal with the French world champion Ousmane Dembele. The winger’s contract with Barcelona will be expiring next June, and Liverpool will be looking to make a swoop at a free transfer for Dembele.

But he has been outrun by his injuries most of the time and it is a huge problem that is holding back Dembele as well as Barcelona. And Liverpool has to much to think about even if it will be a free transfer as Dembele is one of the highly-paid player in one of the biggest clubs in Europe. His contract reaching upto 135 million euros is something to compare with how his injuries might come out to play in the following years.

Well Barcelona is actually seeking ways to reduce their massive wage bill as Barca keeps facing more and more financial crisis. And as Griezmann left in the last day of the summer transfer window, there is more space left. Barcelona will be looking to bring on one or two more players, and speculations are that Barcelona is looking for a deal with Manchester City for the English striker Raheem Sterling.

The question is whether it is the right decision to let go of the winger, who has shown power with his dribbling, pace and one-on-one situations. But the Frenchman will need to improve his finishing attributes more now that he is one of the key figures in the front line. Undoubtedly his performance in the coming years will be something that Barcelona has to depend on, and it depends on if Barca wants to trust it with their current stars, or to bring in fresh boots.
