Video Highlights – Sergino Dest scores a stunner to break a record
Dest scored a first-half stunner against Costa Rica in the World Cup qualifiers last night. His screamer against PSG’s Keylor Navas made USA level against the Costa Ricans, as a reply for their instant goal in the first minute. USA won the game 2-1 grabbing 2nd position on the table, as they now reach the comfort zone to join the World Cup Finals.
Sergino Dest had an exceptional game as he played for 73 minutes. His pace and control on the far corners of the pitch saw USA dominate in the front and the full-back played his part just too well in the defense as well. USA made sure the only goal they’d give away was the opener from Keysher Fuller merely moments after the game started.
Sergino Dest’s goal was an absolute beauty. He scored with his weak foot from outside the box and made the ball swing in and out from the veteran goal keeper’s reach into the top far corner. It was a miracle to watch for the USA fans while they celebrate a first half goal for the first time after 9 consecutive games. USA’s second goal came from a very deserving own goal as the US forward Timothy Weah forced the ball right through the keeper, with the rebound off his back and the goal post.
USA are now well on their way to the world cup finals in Qatar, but the good news for the Culers, is that Sergino Dest is in the finest of his forms after the international break. It is one good trump card for Barcelona and a potential way out of misery as we are heading towards some crucial games this month. All eyes will be on Dest as Barcelona fans will be expecting similar brilliance with the club jersey as well.
