FC Barcelona had to grind out a victory against 10 men Osasuna last night after some heavy resistance was shown from the visitors. Blaugrana came away with a narrow 1-0 victory thanks to a brilliant strike from Jordi Alba.

After going down to ten men because of the red card offense, the Osasuna shotstopper Aitor Fernandez kept FC Barcelona at bay while producing save after save. He was finally beaten by Jordi Alba in the 85th minute but protecting the Osasuna goal up until that point was something he should be proud of. He managed to stop Frenkie De Jong from point blank range and made some impressive saves throughout the match . Aitor ended the match with 3 saves to his name and only 1 goal conceded despite Osasuna playing with 10 men.
Super Luuk – Jordi Alba
The Spanish left back came on to the pitch in the 76th minute and scored the winning goal just after 9 minutes. Alba, soon after coming on linked up with the midfield to create numerous chances but the attackers weren’t able to capitalize from the crosses that Alba sent over until he took the matters into his own hands and slotted away the headed pass that Frenkie De Jong sent to his path. This vital goal helped FC Barcelona to grab all the three points and establish a 14 point lead at the top.
El Tiburón – Ronald Araujo
The Uruguayan CB had another perfect display against Osasuna where he played the entire game recording 2 tackles and 2 clearences while keeping a cleanqqq sheet , Araujo was able to win 2 fouls breaking the momentum of Osasuna whenever they looked threatening.
El Cerebro – Pedri
The Spanish youngster had another decent game last night completing 1 dribble and creating 2 chances
for his teammates. Pedri didn’t look as sharp as he is last night but still managed to put on a decent shift in the midfield constantly trying to make things happen for the team.
El Pistolero – Ansu Fati
Ansu fati replaced Gavi in the 36th minute when the midfielder picked up a groin injury. From there onwards Ansu tried his best to get on the scoresheet. Despite ending the match without a goal, Ansu fati completed 2 dribbles had 2 shots and created few chances as well.
La Pulga – Frenkie De Jong
The Dutch midfielder had an excellent game last night against Osasuna, playing the entire match while recording 121 touches, 91% pass accuracy, 4 chances created, 7/7 accurate long balls and 5 recoveries. Frenkie also provided the winning assist to Jordi Alba in the 85th minute which secured the three points for Blaugrana.
