Following Alonso, Dest, and Roberto’s terrible performance against Arsenal, Barcelona have returned to the hunt for a new full back.

Ivan Fresnada Deal
Ivan Fresnada of Real Valladolid has been one of Barcelona’s top transfer targets in the last two months.
With the club’s dire financial situation, it appeared like Barcelona had withdrawn out of their quest to sign him. However, following the poor performances of Dest, Alonso, and Roberto against Arsenal, multiple sources claim that Barcelona has yet again entered the race to seize the 18-year-old Spaniard.
According to Relevo, Barcelona refused to pay his 20M release clause initially, and is willing to pay 15 million Euros instead.
Deco, who is one of the biggest admirers of the player, has already made two visits to Valladolid but the player’s potential is still doubted by Xavi and Alemany.
Milan, Dortmund and Bournemouth remain as Barcelona’s biggest contenders while Arsenal seems to have left the race, following the arrival of Jurrien Timber.
Other Options
Joao Cancelo
Joao Cancelo is the one that is preferred by both Xavi and Alemany. It is reported that Manchester city have asked for a minimum fee of 50 million euros from both Arsenal and Barcelona if they want the service of the 29 year old Portuguese.

Benjamin Pavard
The Frenchman will be out of contract next summer and is willing to make a move this summer. Liverpool, Chelsea and City along with Barcelona remain linked to him despite Bayern not clearing their intentions with the player.
Benjamin Pavard to Barcelona – good signing or bad signing?
Jeremie Frimpong
Frimpong of Bayer Leverkusen was a standout performer in the 2022/23 Bundesliga. As a result Barcelona, Manchester United and Bayern have shown their interest to sign the Dutch fullback.

Barcelona had few discussions with the player’s party during last February.
Our Thoughts
It was clear that we need an effective right back to partner with Balde, as well as a decent left back to play as a backup.
Julian Araujo is set to be the backup right back, while Inigo might fill in for Balde.
Therefore, Barcelona’s primary goal will be to get a world-class right back.
Speaking from a financial point of view, Pavard would be the most ideal option, whereas Cancelo’s situation falls under ‘Unable to Afford’.
But if the intentions are long term, then both Frimpong and Fresnada might be sound choices. However, Fresnada will have a better chance to adapt to Barcelona’s style than Frimpong.
